Overview

WhereWas is a photo location guessing game that accesses your photo library to read location data from your photos. We take your privacy seriously and want to be transparent about how the app works and what data we collect.

Data Collection & Usage

WhereWas collects and processes the following data:

Photo and Location Data

• Location metadata from photos you choose to play with
• Your device's photo library (with your permission)

User Account Information

• Email address (when you create an account)
• Display name or username
• Account preferences and settings

Usage and Analytics Data

• Game performance and statistics
• App usage patterns and feature interactions
• Device information (device type, operating system version)
• Session data and gameplay metrics
• Crash reports and error logs

Photo Access

When you play the game, WhereWas needs permission to access your photo library to read the location data from your photos. This data is only used within the game to calculate the distance between your guess and the actual photo location. Photo content and location information are processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share game results.
